This post will delve into our optimization process and address some of the frequently asked questions.

Why does the game fail to launch or is unstable on my device?

Our game contains complex graphics and physics calculations that increase the hardware requirements for the device used. There are unexpected compatibility issues with some combinations of devices and drivers which may cause the program to shut down unexpectedly. When working on optimization, we adapt the content of the game and the calculations performed to the specific devices our users use.

After the iOS version release, we have done a lot of extra work redesigning and optimizing several hundred models and textures. All of this has significantly reduced the amount of RAM required to run the game.

Will there be support for App Players?

The emulator support depends on the operation of the internal components of the App Players, which are handled by the emulator developers. Our game uses some advanced features that are not yet common in mobile games, and the support of these may not be a priority for the emulator developers. But we assume that in time they will be supported. However, since this is handled by third-party companies, we cannot give any timeline.

When can we expect the next update?

We are following our established development and maintenance plan for Subtransit Drive, releasing minor updates in the meantime. Some gameplay elements, such as multiplayer, have had to be slightly pushed back from their original dates in order to give more attention to the performance improvements. As before, we're planning to roll out gradual early access to some of the new features. More details will be available in the near future.

When will there be passengers and multiplayer?

Our top priority right now is a major update that will include multiplayer and passengers. We will share details about the release of this update within a few weeks.

New trains and lines.

Our current focus is expanding the current line and releasing the Novogireevo depot, as well as the additional scenarios. Going forward, we have plans to expand the world of Subtransit Drive by adding new rolling stock and expanding the transportation network with additional content.

Is there any roadmap for updates?

Specific update plans can be found on our public roadmap in Trello - https://trello.com/b/Qc2kbb1R/subtransit-drive-releases. As we release our currently planned updates, we will add new milestones and stages, and also expand the list of supported platforms.

What to do if a certain rendering type doesn't work on my phone?

Support for mobile and desktop rendering modes is a core feature of Unreal Engine 4 and is largely dependent on drivers and the graphics processor support. With the planned upgrade to Unreal Engine 5, we expect to get improved support for many of the rendering features on various GPUs, including Mediatek. More information about this update will be available later.

Traffic stops and schedule interruptions.

We are aware of failures in the traffic schedule that sometimes happen. We are continuing to work on this system and improve it. Currently, the failures are usually caused by the low performance of the device used. However, we are working on making this system independent of the device specifications, as we recognize how much this impacts the immersion and the gameplay experience.

Configurable master controller user interface.

We've been getting feedback from users on how we can improve the master controller in the game interface and add different modes to it. New more customizable controls are in development and will be available in the one of upcoming updates.
