1. How can I purchase the game in Google Play and App Store?

The game is distributed for free through the App Store and Google Play mobile app stores and includes in-app purchases to purchase the full version.

You can also use our website for purchasing the game by clicking on "buy" and using an Epic Games account. With the release of the game we will add sections to our home page for purchasing and user account information. We will accept different payment methods.

2. What’s the level of realism on the mobile platforms? Is a detailed simulation possible?

Subtransit Drive offers an advanced simulation model that is both deeper and broader in scope than Metrostroi. It is a digital twin model that recreates the components and elements of the real train where the final behavior of it depends on all of them.

This combines together with the custom physics engine that calculates the interaction forces between the wheels and the rails, and performs additional elements simulation such as the differences in the line voltage at different parts of the line.

3. Will this game be available on other platforms (PC)?

Yes, as stated in the announcement, it is a multiplatform game that will be released on other platforms with time as we develop and extend it.

"Subtransit Drive" is intended as a way to enjoy realistic train simulation on the go - in a way that has never been offered on the mobile platforms before. It is a standalone product, however it offers some of the key features of the bigger desktop simulation project under development.

We hope that the presented level of details in graphics and train behavior makes it clear that the 'hardcore' desktop simulation is also our further priority. Your support for "Subtransit Drive" directly contributes to the development of this project.

4. Will the game be released on 21st Dec?

Correct. We’re currently aiming to make our game available from 21st December on iOS. However, we do not exclude the possibility of date changes due to the unpredictable verification process in the application store.

5. What’s the future of this game? Will there be additional lines, trains?

We have a plan on releasing new content and updates. This includes new locations, scenarios, trains and additional simulation features.

6. What are the limitations of the free game version?

Purchasing the full version allows you to continue gaining experience above the maximum rank of the free version. It also unlocks additional game modes, such as multiplayer and custom scenarios.

7. Will the game be optimized for Android? What devices will be supported at launch?

There is a large spectrum of Android devices, which makes the optimization work challenging. We will continue to work on this and will provide more detailed information about supporting Android devices during Q1 2023.

Some graphics aspects are simplified on the low-end devices. For the high-end devices, additional graphics settings are available to adjust the image quality.

8. The graphics shown on the website - is that for the mobile phone? Will there be graphics quality adjustment?

Yes, all the screenshots on the website show the current state of Subtransit Drive on iOS (using iPad as the reference). Devices with the M1 and M2 chipsets support the more detailed rendering, screen space reflections and motion blur.

9. Will there be modding support in the Subtransit Drive?

No, we’re sad to say that we’re unable to provide official modding support for Subtransit Drive due to technical reasons and the additional legal challenges with Epic Games and store providers.

10. How will the multiplayer work? Will there be private servers or a way to host your own servers?

We are unable to offer custom servers for the mobile version of the game due to certain technical and legal challenges.

The game includes the multiplayer on release and we plan to add additional features to the multiplayer mode in the updates after the game release. New multiplayer modes, including private sessions and custom settings will be offered with updates. It is also planned to expand the multiplayer modes based on the community feedback.

11. Will the buttons, switches, panels, etc. be translated? What about the station announcer?

Yes, the train panels are localized into two languages: Russian and English. The announcer recordings are bilingual (Russian, English). All other parts of the game are localized in four languages: Russian, English, Deutsch, and Japanese.

12. Multiplatform doesn't mean cross platform?

We mean both things in different senses. Subtransit Drive is a game on multiple platforms with cross-platform multiplayer. We hope to keep it this way across all future platforms for Subtransit Drive.

13. What game engine does this use?

The game currently uses a customized version of Unreal Engine 4. In the future, we are planning to transition to Unreal Engine 5.

14. The subway in the game looks different to the real one, is this related to visual preferences?

The game is set in Moscow during the 2010’s period, as we feel this visual style best corresponds to presenting the classic soviet architecture look of these subway stations together with both the old and the modern trains.

15. How badly can you mess up when driving the trains, can you go barreling off the tracks?

You’re given the freedom to operate the train systems with the corresponding consequences. The train is only kept on the rails by the physics forces, so it is possible to derail the train, just like it is possible to put the train systems into a faulty state.

In addition to this the game updates will bring you new scenarios, where you will be able to experience the more interesting failures, as well as special events and potentially random failures during normal gameplay later on.

16. I’ve subscribed to your mailing list, but the mail ended up marked as spam.
